Review Topic: K1 Visa

We arrived at 7:25am and our appointment was at 8:35am. We were the first K-1 couple in line. We entered the embassy at about 8:05am. At about 8:20am, we were called to one of the windows. My fiancee was asked about 10 simple questions in spanish and we had to provide some documentation (i.e. financial support documentation and other requested forms that were requested in the packet). The interviewer was very nice and we were at the window for about 10 minutes.

At about 8:40am, we were called to the interview room. The second interviewer was also very nice. The interviewer asked about 15 simple questions and then said that the Visa was approved. This took about 10 minutes.

We then went outside to the DHL waiting area to get the receipt for picking up the Visa and passport (the interview was on Friday and the Visa and passport were available for pickup from DHL on the following Tuesday). We had to wait at the DHL office for about 10 minutes and then we left the embassy at about 9:05am.

The total process was very easy and everyone that we spoke to was very nice.

My opinion is that, if possible, the K-1 sponsor should go to the interview appointment with their fiance/fiancee. We both were asked questions during the interview and by going together, it is a good opportunity for the couple to support one another.
