I traveled to Thailand for my fiancees interview at the Embassy and I am glad I did. My wife (now) doesn't speak the best English and is shy. The Amercian interviewer and his Thai assistant weren't mean, but they weren't too helpful either. I could hear the interview, my wife was very nervious and messed up one answer and it was all down hill after that. The interviewer asked what year we met, she was thinking Thai calendar and the interviewer was thinking western calendar. He could have asked how many years we knew each other, maybe? He started digging in and probing her answers, which made her more nervious. I had to walk up to the interview, tell them she was nervious and confused and straighten out some of the answers. If I was not there to do this, they probably would have denied her fiancee Visa. Keep that in mind if your fiancee might react the same. Oh, it didn't seem like they read any of the paper work we submitted before the interview, just looked at it for the first time at the interview.
