The interview it self was very easy, though it made for a very long day. The interview was set for 9:00 am, but based on my fiancee's experience with the American Consulate, we went at 7:00 am. It was unnecessary, as we did not need to go through the same process as the B1/B2 visa filers. They gathered us together (all the family immigrant visa filers I assume) and brought us in at 9:00 am. We were each processed one at a time. They review our paperwork and we had to pay the filing fee (forgot off the top of my head what it was, but it was cheaper then the fee normally used on this site. I remember there is a lot of confusion on the Venezuela consulate page as to what the fee is exactly. I would bring enough to cover the most expensive option, and then be pleasantly surprised. Remember to bring bolivars to cover the cost of the DHL shipping.) After returning with the receipt (I believe the time was around 11:30), they gave us a piece of paper with our interview time, which was 2:00. So the problem becomes, what to do with yourself in place you have no car (you cannot park at the consulate) and is not close to anything. We took a taxi down to Las Mercedes and had lunch, and then returned. They would not let us enter the consulate again until exactly 2:00, even though the interview was at 2:00. Fortunately all the interviews are at this time, and you just wait your turn. We were the last ones, and we did not get interviewed until 4:00. The interviewer asked my fiancee several questions in Spanish. She asked me if I had been married before and had any children. She said it was a very good sign I was there for the interview, and that we made a very cute couple. She approved us with no problems, but it took the computer system another half an hour to come back with my fiancee's background check. We finally got out of the embassy at 5:00 pm.

The biggest issue by far with Venezuela!!!! The consulate sends the interview date (no Packet one, just a letter with the interview time) by mail. Our letter did not come to my fiancee's home until 6 weeks after the interview! Once you receive your letter from the NVC, wait about 2 weeks and then email the consulate (the address is on the website). They are very helpful and will give you your interview date. Also! The website is very helpful and gives you all the requirements for the interview (so confusion not with standing). Using the website, and this website's guides for the interview, you should have not problems. Good Luck!
