This Embassy is one of the best to file and get approval from. If all of your papers are in order, its a 10 minute breeze thru that part, another 10 minutes of fingerprints and then final chat with Embassy Official at a window like a bank. Contrary to what you have heard, ther are NO interview rooms with cameras and stern dictating Embassy officials. The final interview is standing up at the window. They MAY ask you to verify a few questions regarding facts that you already submitted in earlier paperwork, but we got none. Sveta was alone, and she was ONLY asked if she was aware of my previous misdemeanor record with the court in 1989-90. She said YES, I know, and they said they HAD to tell her this. My opinion is they ONLY ask questions if there is some questions that the applicant is NOT the same person who filled out the paperwork, the age is crazy, like a 18 year old and a 79 year old man, or they supect foul play. I have never heard of this, espcecially at Kiev Embassy, so all in all, the hardest part of the whole two day trip for medical and Embassy, was the 18 hr train ride from the Black Sea. I would like to say that its best to schedule your Interview when you can, then call and try to get your medical the DAY before. they go to Kiev, get a hotel for two days, and then you are there for your 9am appts, no rushing. She went to medical at 9;30, had simple blood checks, xray and urine, then told to come back at 3pm. If you bring your vaccination papers from your lifetime doctor, they will translate for free for you. You will need these later at your AOS, so its easier to have these and bring to USA.While you are waiitng the 6 hours for your papers, you can take a bus into Kiev center, go to Pro Credit Bank and pay the $131 USD for your Embassy appt. They will giove you receipt to give Embassy. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO PAY FOR YOUR APPT, and don't try to do it early before your appt, as lines maybe long and you'll be late for appt, or miss it entirely!!! Then you can get your papers, go back to apartment and sleep and next morning , back to Embassy for 9;30 appt. At 11am, she was on way back to apt and waited for 6pm train. Simple, relaxing and easy to do. All in all, a pleasurable expenrience with nice folks at both places.
