Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our interview time was at 11:00 AM. The place was very easy to find but the parking wasn't so easy. Good thing was that we got there about 30min early just to be sure. Also, it helped that we only live like 15 min away from the place. We found a meter and fed it for 2 hours, just cause we didn't want to run in and out for the meter.

Including the security check at the door, everything went very smooth. Everybody at the office (including the security personels) was very pleasant and extremely helpful. My husband and I weren't really concerned or nervous about the interview but the people that we may have to deal with. (thinking people at DMV, you know what i mean?)

First, we were called in right at 11 O'Clock and we were greeted by a very sweet and nice IO. We were swore in and the interview began. She asked us basic original documents - birth certificates, marriage license, passports and etc. Then she asked us about how we met and when we were married and all that. She also asked us if we met each other's parents. (of course). We said we have pictures to show her. We brought about 20 pictures that we printed out. We brought our Hawaii honeymoon pictures, halloween, new years party with friends, and trip to my husband's home town. She took several pictures to keep in the file/record and she STAMPED my passport. She explained to us about 2 years from today we have to get the temporary status removed and etc.

The whole process took less than 15 min. I was pleasantly surprised how smooth and easy the whole experience was. I also expected to the kind of treatment you get at the DMV office but it was not the case at all. Everyone was very nice, informative, and professional.

Good luck everybody in your journey, it will be over before you know it. Just a reminder, you got nothing to worry about as long as you have nothing to hide. I saw so many people in the waiting room about to have an anxiety attack when their names are called.
