my visa was approved last january 27. the process was relatively easy at the us embassy in jakarta. i went there on the same date at 830am for the document screening and was fortunate to be scheduled for interview in the afternoon as well. i guess it helped that i made sure that all the documents are complete and that i have all the originals with me. i also sent them an email requesting for an interview on the same day as document screening as i have to travel 5 hours to go to jakarta (thanks devie for the advice, it sure worked!)
i was told to stay for the 10am fingerprinting and came back at 1pm for the interview. there were around 10 people scheduled that afternoon and it was pretty quiet.
when it was my turn (at around 300 pm), the CO didn't ask for any additional documents as my photos and other proof of relationships were already asked during the document screening. the CO who interviewed me was, i think, being trained as he was with a senior officer who helped him while he went through my documents. he also turned off the speaker whenever he asked his senior something. when he finally finished looking and checking at the documents, he asked me how i met my fiance and when did we meet and that's all! then he said you visa is approved!
most of those who were interviewed that day passed as well except for some who needed to submit additional requirements.
too bad they didn't ask for any other documents as I brought tons during the interview. well, it doesn't matter anyway as i got my approval. hehehe.
i am scheduled to go back on feb 2 to pick up my passport and visa 
all in all, it was hassle-free and they seemed to work fast there.
one tip though, if you are going to window 4, just go ahead and stand in front of the window even if no one is there. they don't usually man it and will only go there when someone is in front. several visitors asked me how the procedure is and i told them to just stand in front of the window
