Got there nice and eary 15 or so mins before our 8.30 appointment, waited in a little line (not as big as most days for once, we'd been in london for a week or so before figuring out where to go so not to be in a mad panic on the day) were put 2nd in the line for K1 visas Woot! waited about 30 mins and got called up, handed over our documents, got most handed back to us with a nice smile, got my chest X-ray back along with the medical exam notes and a chunky file sealed. peeked at the forms and saw a nice red rubber stamp saying approved!!!
Had a nice chat with the guy at the window as he looked over our docs, unfortunately we had a problem with our police check...
So our Visa was Approved but suspended, the original police check we had sent had been replaced by a newer version unbeknown to us (we had been having trouble with the london embassy and their office black holw.. sent in multiple Packet 3's to no avail. my Fiance got his congresswoman to inquire about our case and she rushed our interview after sending a 4th packet 3 to the embassy on may 23rd). got the police report mailed off for via the embassies courier, received the report 2 days later and sent it off along with my passport back to the embassy on the 7th of June. 3 days later my passport arrives at the house all nice with the visa page on it wooohoooo!
Everyone at the Embassy were really nice, aside from the police check problem it all went smoothly, they let my fiance come in with me as he's the petitioner which was a big relief  and they had such a quick turnaround on everything that we needed. very happy trip to the Embassy indeed!
