The morning went well at the US Embassy in Bogota. It was a typical chilly raining morning. There were not as many people in line as I expected (day after Thanksgiving). We got there at 6:30 - 6:45 am which was fine. I hate to stand in line any longer than I have to. There were only 10 people or so in front of us in line 3. We moved inside pretty quickly. Had to wait for 30-45 minutes. Was called to a window to submit our paperwork. The lady was kind of mean with no smile. Then we had to wait about 2 1/2- 3 hours for our actual interview. The interview took about 15-20 minutes is all. The interviewer was a nice guy that has been to my hometown in New York many times to go fishing in the Finger Lakes. It helped I think. Our only issue was that she speaks Spanish and only a little English and I speak English and only a little Spanish. Our conversations are improving every day but it is a challenge and we were questioned on it. How could we communicate? It seems impossible but we do it quite well. She will study English every day in USA. They try to trip you up asking many questions that only a couple in love that has spent time together and communicate often will know. Glad that it is all over. It's really been a year long process since we first met. Good luck to all. Our interview was on a Friday and she received VISA on following Wednesday.
