I went with my fiancée to her interview. Our experience was pretty much exactly as described by other reviewers. You arrive at 1, expect to be there until at least 3 or 4. We were almost the last to leave at almost 4:30. They call your name after you arrive and take all of your documents. After that most of the time is spent waiting anxiously with no idea of whether your application is in the back room being reviewed favorably or not.
The staff were very courteous. We did have one bad experience, however. My fiancée had burned her fingertip cooking a few days before. It wasn't bad, but it caused a callus that prevented her left middle finger from being read by the fingerprint scanner. We were almost turned away, but luckily the consulate worker consulted with another employee and found out that they could accept the scan with only 4 fingers from that hand. The woman was very apologetic and seemed to genuinely care about the distress she had caused.
We were asked the same questions other applicants were asked. Most of which were standard and straightforward. How did you meet, where, when, etc... This part of the process really only took about 5 minutes.
