My wife and I were married Nov '07. She came to the US in June '07, we were not intending to marry at the time and she came here as a tourist. We completed and sent all our paperwork the end of November. There were only two problems I can remember. We had to go for biometrics a second time because the fingerprints didn't take the first time. The other problem we had was the physical. The forms were not completed correctly by the civil surgeon. This was the same c.s. who failed to tell us, after she tested positive for TB, most people from Europe would not pass the TB test because of a vaccine they were given when they were young. My wife thought she had TB until we did some research on the net. If anyone is in SW La, I don't recommend the c.s. in Pt Arthur even if she is the closest available.
Anyway, we completed everything ourself using the info from this site. The agent that interviewed us was great. Do be over prepared, take a few pictures, tax info, copies of everything and organize it so it's easy to find. We it all in a folder with clear pockets and labeled what was in each. She didn't ask the color of toothbrush or what side of the be we slept on, only what the others birthday. I actually answered wrong but she let it slide: )
My wife received her green card the beginning of Aug 08. Good luck to all, it's not that bad and well worth it.
