After a year wait interview finally complete and visa approved!
Our appointment was 9:30 am, but they let us enter at 8:30.
Pre-consul was easy. The standard questions and documents (birth certificate, passport, marriage cert, divorce documents)
We waited about an hour for the actual interview and then my 10 month old started to get fussy. A lady came over and asked what our number was, I told her, and our number was called next. We probably would have waited another 2 hours but let skip the line because of the baby. The interview was pretty easy, they confirmed our address in the United States. They asked when we got married. They asked my husband if he's ever traveled outside of the Dominican Republic. Whether or not he's had any trouble with the law. If he's ever applied for a US Visa. They asked us both if we've been married before. We both said yes and she reviewed our divorce papers. My husband's previous divorce wasn't finalized until a month before we got married so they asked him about that. They also asked my husband what I do for work and who I live with. The final question was if we had children in common. It was obvious because the baby was with us lol. They asked for the birth certificate and after we gave them that the lady said APPROVED.
Such a long process but well worth it.
