I arrived at 08:15 for my 08:30 appointment, as recommended in the email. I would recommend getting there at least half an hour early, I think that would have saved me an hour of wait time inside. Most of the people in line are there for tourist visa's. The list I glanced at only had around 7 names for an IV. The IV interviews just take longer, so if you manage to get there before a few of them it'll save you a lot of time.
I ended up waiting in line till 08:50 to sign in. Once that was done it took until about 09:30 before I was allowed in and through security.
Once inside I had to wait all the way in the back (15-21 I believe). I waited until 10:05 to hand in my documents, and then had to wait another hour before my interview.
The interview itself was fairly simple and only took 10 minutes. Most of which was just the interviewer typing stuff. She asked where me and my husband met, where he was stationed and will be stationed afterwards, if this was both of our first marriages and if I/we had any children. I was done at 11:15.
These are the only documents you need to bring:
- Marriage certificate
- Birth certificate
- Police records
- I-184 and the appropirate financial support documents (W2, 1099, income slip, mortgage documents, etc.)
I had not had my medical examination yet, so I was rejected with a 211(g) but they told me that all we were waiting on now was my medical.
I had my medical a few days after my interview (which was a nightmare to plan! To prevent delays and unnecessary stress please request your Rijksvaccinatie document the moment you apply for the I-130 and get updated on the following vaccinations if needed: DKT (I was only able to get this one at the GGD), BMR, Flu-shot (okt-mrt), Covid-19, Heb B. They won't plan in an examination until you have received all your vaccinations!!). The doctor sent my file to the consulate 2 days later. A week after I sent the consulate an email asking if they had received my medical, and they responded the day after to let me know my visa was approved. The next day they sent my passport my way.
