Medical check up:
I saw horrific reviews (JHB) so I was really worried, but it was pretty smooth. You truly have to allot a whole day to getting it done, just be patient (bring a book/ download some shows) and you'll be fine! Make sure to bring everything they ask in the email + a pen. The location of the clinic is literally inside Sandton City Mall, by the standard bank (I accidentally went to another location but they were understanding about my being late).
Interview:
For some reason I thought it would be a one-on-one interview in a room, but it was just an informal questioning at the tbank eller/booth area. Again, make sure you bring a pen! Total took around 1.5 hours at the consulate. You're not allowed your phone/ electronics past the entrance so maybe bring a book/ Sudoku puzzle. Most important items to bring: passport, birth certificate+copy, other applicable death/divorce/military certificates+copies, visa size photos, police clearance certificates. The other documents mentioned in the email are supplementary, rather be safe than sorry so bring them along. It seems the people doing the interviews check different documents for different people? Unsure.
PS: start applying for any certification you need as soon as you apply for your petition. PCC takes about a month, but lasts for 6 months from receiving it. Applying for things in SA, in general, takes a hot minute.
