Overall, the experience wasn’t that bad. As long as you submit all requested documents and pay fees in a timely manner things go smoothly. The only downside was that the USEM in Manila had a huge backlog on all visas and delayed processing IR1/IR2 visas for over 10 months. I’m less upset about the delay than I was about the lack of transparency from NVC and the USEM in Manila about when the interviews would be scheduled. There was absolutely no useful information available from either of those two organizations that would allow for proper financial planning for the burden of taking care of my family overseas while they awaited their visas. We were part of a mass expedite in March of 2024 and from there things went smoothly. Medical was in April and Interview was in May as well as CFO which is required in Philippines. Just glad that it is over with.
