We had a 7AM appt and arrived at 630am. The guard sat us down and called us up to get our number each row at a time. When went to get our number they wanted my fiancee to correct one thing. They wanted her to sign (either the 156 or 157 cant remember) where is says do not write below this line. Oh and we didnt attach her pic to the form, but there was a lady next to us who happened to have a bottle of glue so we got that taken care of. Next was the prescreen. My fiancee handed in the required docs and answered some basic questions like, how long have you known yr fiancee and how did you meet. He sent my fiancee to window 16 to get fingerprinted, then we went sat down again to wait for the interview. Up til now everything happens pretty quick. Finally they started the interviews. At first they were going through them like crazy. Each one was lasting only a few minutes. I was timming them and the quickest was 2:03. Then it seemed as though there were more CO's so the interviews became longer. Finaly we got called (1030am). It seemed that the applicants who had prior marriges were taking the longest (10 min average). My fiancee took just a little over 10 minutes and was asked
how did you meet?
how long have you known each other?
why did he pick you over an american?
have you been married? kids?
has he been married? kids?
how many times has he been to see you?
how many times has he met your parents?
do your parents like him?
She made some comments about some of the pics we submitted. I made a powerpoint presentation telling our story. I included pics and made comments about the pics. I also included our email/chat logs. Just hit the print screen button then put them into the powerpoint as a photo. The CO seemed to be happy with it. She apparently just scanned through the I134/2007 tax return. She was very friendly and she made my fiancee very at ease. Overall it was a good experience. It took a little more time than I wanted but I think that was more just the anticipation of waiting.
Im not sure what time they open the gates but no matter what time your appt is (im assuming within reason) its first come first served. I spoke with another couple who also had a 7AM appt but they arrived at 6AM and were about 15 numbers ahead of us.
