Today Wed 13 Mar 2024, I had my B2 tourism interview, and happy with how things went, so. My appointment was for 10:30, and I had traveled down from Glasgow, on Tue, and staying in the Vauxhall Travel Lodge.

Not much to due on the day of my appointment, at 10:30, so made my way to the London Embassy, wasn't much of a queue, so for the time being I sat down and waited. Consular security were advancing anyone that was waiting, and he approached myself, at 09:00

Asked when my appointment time was, and then asked has my DS-160 been checked, so he check my DS-160, and allowed me to enter the Embassy. This person in general was very friendly and asking where I have traveled from, so told him Glasgow. Now if this person has help you, you know what I mean, I think this guy was the double of Rio Ferdinand.

Now up on second floor waiting for my appointment, and was seen with in one hour. Consular officer, a young female, who then took my finger-prints, and looked over my DS-160, and then told me to go back in the sitting area, next to booths 43-47

One thing I would say, most of us here had criminal convictions, and we could all hear what was being said in the booths. For example one person had been to jail and served at least 2 years, and visa denied. Think a lot more privacy is required, and you dont want everyone to know your convictions

Second and final interview, and this consular officer, asked me about my conviction, explained truthfully and honestly, including why on that day I committed this crime. Only thing I would agree with, I brought up an issue about my uncle being and overbearing person, and at the time, I was suffering from depression at the time

Officer told me, overbearing is not an reason or excuse, but I would say, you have to understand the person. So ended up explaining about my childhood, and what the doctors told my parent when i was born

Interview almost over, just a few questions, where do you work and how long, why are wanting to go to the US, nothing else was asked. Finances, Itinerary, Work Ties

Consular officer: I can tell you now, your visa has been approved, and will be posted back to you, in 4 - 5 weeks. I left the Embassy a very happy person. By getting in early, and meant I got out early, I was able to catch my first choice of flight from Gatwick and then home
