My husband's interview was schedule for 8:20am, Nov 30th 2023.
We arrived to the consulate at about 7:40am and there was a super long line for the tourist visa or non-immigrant visas and a pretty short line near the door for immigrant visas.
My husband told them he was there for a green card interview and they checked his passport and then gave him a green card to put inside.
They did not allow me to go in with him and I waited outside while he stood in line and then about 10 minutes later he went inside and I left.
My husband said that inside, he showed them the card in his passport and they sent him to the second floor. On the second floor, someone gives you a list of the documents you need and the order they go in. Once you put them in order, someone else calls you to a window where they check your documents and make sure you have everything.
~side note~
I waited about 2 hours or so at the airbnb and then felt like I should go back to the consulate and wait for my husband outside. About 10 minutes after I got there and was waiting my husband came outside and told me they said I could come in for the interview! (praise God I felt to go back there and wait at the right time) They had told my husband that initially I wasn't allowed in because the room was too full but the people who arrived earlier were allowed to go in with their spouses. Something to consider!

We went back inside together after dropping the phones I had off with a secure booth across the street. Then we went inside together to the second floor.
My husband had already done the documents check and so I felt pretty good because that was the thing I was most worried about. Now we were just waiting for the interview.
After about maybe 15 or 20 min they called my husband to the window and I went with him. The interviewer confirmed his name. He asked me if I was the petitioner and to confirm my name. Then he asked us who "John" is (he is our joint sponsor, my father). He asked how we met. He asked if I was intending to return back to the US before or at the same time as my husband (yes). He also asked my husband's mother's maiden name (I'm not sure why but it's good to know just in case!) It was very relaxed and the guy was very kind and polite. He apologized for the wait and said it was because their system was slow that day. Then he asked us if we wanted to wait to reschedule the interview again for two weeks later since our two year anniversary would be in two weeks. I asked if it could be changed to IR-1 at immigration when we travel and he said yes it could be but it's not guaranteed. So we said no, we don't want to reschedule. And he said okay your visa is approved and gave us a paper that said visa approved!
Overall, it is very easy and there is nothing to worry about as long as you double check you have all the documents. It's nice that your documents get checked first and they tell you if you have everything before the interview.
Also, they liked that we had uploaded everything to CEAC like our pictures, relationship proof, updated police certificates, ect. I uploaded those after being DQ'd and they can see all that in their system which is helpful for them!
