My fiancé had the interview on September 24th, 2023.
He arrived early and was the second person to have his interview that day.
The consular officer that gave him the interview was a blond man in his mid 30s. My fiancé described him as a kind and patient man who helped him to relax after he got flustered.
The questions were:
How did you and your fiancé meet?
Who messaged whom first?
How many times did you meet each other in person?
Did she come to Algeria?
When was the last time you saw her?
Do you know the cosponsor?
Do you know her family?
How did you propose to her?
What does she do for work?
Do you currently work?
What do you want to do for work in America?
What is her address?
Have you lived in another country for more than a year?
Do you have children?
Does she have children?
Have you had a girlfriend in Algeria before?
Right after asking these questions, the office said, “I’m happy to approve your visa.” He then handed my fiancé a paper with instructions on where to check online if the visa was printed and about picking up the passport. The officer never did ask to see any proof of relationship. But better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have.
