Interview on July 12, 2023. Consular officer asked him about my previous marriages and he had to give details about why I had several divorces. The main thing the officer wanted to know was about my marriages and proof that we had an actual valid relationship. Luckily I had been to Egypt 3 times and had many many pictures with him and family. Officer asked for pictures, nothing else. Asked a few more questions. Interveiw didn't last long, maybe 20 minutes. Received verbal approval and approval letter. My husband felt that it was a positive experience and we were happy and excited. Several days later, we checked on CEAC 'check visa status' because he was told he would be getting his visa issued within 3 business days, and it said REFUSED. We were in a panic wondering what happened. Found out through researching forums that he was placed on administrative processing. In the next several days, we sent numerous emails to the embassy inquiring about what happened and what we needed to do and all were ignored. I contacted my state senator on July 19, the morning we checked and saw our status as REFUSED. On July 28th, when the senator emailed the embassy, the very next day the embassy started processing everything. By August 3rd he was issued his visa. Moral of the story is contact your state senators if you have done everything that was asked of you and they are still beating around the bush. If you have a good senator who is doing the right thing they will help speed up your case processing.
