My fiance’s appointment was at 9:30 and he was the first family visa person to have his interview around 12:00pm. The interview lasted about 15 minutes. He had the CO with dark brown hair and said she was extremely nice, friendly, and respectful towards him. He said it felt more like he was making small talk with someone at a party, than being interviewed. She was happy he spoke English and he said it was clear that people who spoke English had an advantage from observing the previous interviews.
She asked him:
--if he had ever been to the US
--if he had previously applied for visas to the US
--to sign a document (which also involved writing my name) stating we would be
married within 90 days of entering the US
--when he planned to enter the US
--what he planned to do there
--if we live together in Morocco and told him since I am a resident of Morocco, it
would have been much easier to file at the consulate (wish I had known!). He tried to
show her my carte de sejour, but she said no, not necessary, I believe you.
--how we met and the approximate dates when I had been here, what I had been doing
in Morocco when we met, and when I moved to Morocco permanently
--asked about the research I am doing here in Morocco
--asked if we had had engagement party
She then looked at the photographs very quickly and made some nice comments about them and said the rest of the evidence we had brought was not necessary. She said the case was approved by the consulate and just needed to be sent to Washington for further processing. She said that usually takes a few weeks and they would call him when this was finished. Overall very easy, pleasant experience for him.
Also, he saw that ‘Approved’ stamp on our file, but it was clearly relating to the fact that it had been approved by the USCIS, as it had the date of that approval next to it.
He received his visa in hand exactly two weeks after the interview. Had to wait a few hours for this.
