I was able to attend the interview with my fiancee and her son and it was fortunate that I did! We had a terrible experience with the Ukrainian staff person that examined our documents. She was unbelievably hostile and rude. She snatched our documents and threw the ones that she did not need back at us. She lectured us about buying our tickets before receiving the visa (we had no choice given our schedule)and they then told us that my fiancee's 19 yo son would not be able to adjust status from a K2 visa and would have to return to Ukraine in 90 days (this is completely incorrect) and then lectured us again for thinking that it was "so simple" to take children to the US. Eventually the CO arrived, asked questions about our relationship and gave us the pink slip. The next day I realized that he did not take a sworn statement from my finacee nor did he complete the DS156(k) document (which would have been a big problem for us if I hadn't caught this mistake. We returned the next day and pointed out the mistake. She was sworn and we finished. We have now, fortunately, received our visas, but it was a very difficult experience. javascript:emoticon('')
