My appointment was at 9 am, but I arrived at 8:10 am just to be safe. I was admitted earlier by security at 8:30 am. There are lockers available in case if you don't have anyone to hold your things outside of the embassy (cellphone, wallet, ect).
The building is big and you have to cross the big patio in the middle. There were at least 3 people before me.
So, in the first part, my number was called and I went to a window (just like a bank) where I was ask to hand certain documentation (a photo of the USC ID passport page, tax documentation, civil documentation, an updated criminal record, US domicile evidence, and more (forgot everything but has to be down to that).
The second part wasn't very pleasant. I was called by the Consular Officer, where she already was angry (yeah, I'm not exaggerating). She started the conversation saying that my case was lacking documents regarding US domicile proof, and that she didn't see where the petitioner's tax documents were. I spoke in english and she told me I had to speak spanish (very rudely. . .I'd never imagine I was gonna be told to speak spanish. If anything, I'd expect to be told to speak in english, right?. So, I explained that I did actually hand them to the first person that received my documents, and she found it. Same story with the US domicile proof, she didn't find the bank statement, but wasn't enough for her.
Finally, she gave me a paper listing the documentation needed to proceed with the visa (in other words, RFE for lack of proof of US domicile). She suggested "Job offers, rental lease, voting register, ect".
Overall good and easy process, but the negative side would be the anger of the official. I understand and agree, looking back, that we needed to show more documents in that matter, but doesn't give her the right to treat anyone like that. I felt the anger and irony.
