Juarez, Mexico | Review on January 24, 2023: | Steffen & Rafael

The first interview took place on January 23, 2023. It went very well. My husband was only inside the consulate for around an hour or less. All they asked for was his passport, his birth certificate, our marriage certificate, and the police certificate. They asked some basic questions such as "Who petitioned you?" (He said the IO got confused when he said "esposo" as she was expecting "esposa" lol), "Where is your husband at the present moment?, and ask him to confirm my phone number, address, and the names of his parents. They gave him a blue slip with date and time of the next appointment, which was the next day.
On the second day (January 24, 2023) they only asked for the same documents as yesterday, along with my birth certificate. I was very surprised that they didn't ask to see the I-864 and any other financial documents, but I digress. They asked similar questions this time around, along with "Where did we meet?", "When did we get married?", and "Have you (beneficiary) had any problems with the police?" After the questions they said congratulations, you're approved, and did you scan the QR code to read about domestic violence and your rights. They kept the passport and soon after his CEAC account was updated to Issued.
All in all everything went quite well. He was only outside in line for about 10 minutes both days before being permitted inside the consulate. It's been below freezing here in Juarez. The officers were very nice.
