I had a super smooth and easy experience, thankfully!
My appointment was for 8:30am, once I got to the consulate I was let in and went through security, took the elevator to the first floor and waited to be called by my number in the seating area. I waited about 5 mins and was called to a window where a very friendly woman greeted me and asked who my sponsor was, when we got married, what our phone numbers were, what my husband's US address was, asked for my original birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificate and one passport photo, and then she took my finger prints, handed me a panflet about my rights, and asked me to wait once more for my number to be called.
I waited about another 20 minutes and was called to another widown for my interview. I think the whole thing took like 5 mins, super quick and straight forward. I did my oath, she also took my finger prints, asked if I had any questions about the panflet they gave me and then these are the questions that I remember her asking me for the interview portion:
Who's your sponsor
What's your relationship with them
Where does he live
She noticed I had been issued a previous K1 visa and was wondering why I moved back to Canada, which was pandemic related reasons, and then verified with me that I renounced my previous greencard
Have I ever been outside of the US or Canada in the last 5 years
Have I ever lived in another country
Have I ever been denied or had any issues at the border
What does my husband do for work
What I do for work
My husband changed careers and we needed a joint sponsor after we had already been DQ'd based on his previous work and income history, so I brought an updated I-864 as well as an I-864 A with the household members income and previous year's 1040 tax return, she only asked what their relationship was and was content there and didn't ask for any further documentation. She told me all looked good and that she would be issuing me my visa. She informed me of when to expect my passport back, gave me a document repeating that information, gave me back by marriage certificate and birth cirtificate and sent me on my way. The whole experience was really good and everyone was very friendly!
