The reviews from others on here were so helpful to me that I'd like to share my experience:
I arrived at the consulate at 7.35 (appointment was at 8) and was done at 8.35 already (much faster than expected).
The first check at the window outside and security took only 5-10 minutes. I didnt bring my phone and smart watch.
After the security check I went to the main building and went straight to counter 22 as I was told. The counter is around a little corner, just follow the signs. At the counter they checked my interview confirmation, passport, pictures (5x5cm, not the usual german size for passport pictures!) and DS-260 confirmation page.
I was asked to sit down and wait until my numer showed up on a screen. My number was almost immdiatly called and I went to another counter where they checked all original documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate and police certificate). I was unsure if I had to bring my husbands original tax return documents and W-2. We uploaded the 2020 documents to the NVC when we first filed and then uploaded the 2021 documents before the interview. I was asked to show copies of the documents but as far as I understood it would have been okay if I hadn't brought those.
I then had to sit down again and waited for less than 5 minutes. In the interview I was asked how my husband and I met and when I plan on moving. The officer was very friendly and I was able to leave.
One thing I was confuded about is the "Delivery Registration Confirmation Form". I registered my adress with GTS and paid for the document delivery but never received such a confirmation form, just an Email that stated that I had paid (no adress/name/case number in there). I wasn't asked for any confirmation document at the consulate. They just asked if I had registered and paid.
