Husband's testimony: I arrived at the embassy at 0815 for my appointment at 0830. There was a 50+ person queue, I was unsure due to my appointment being so soon that I would be allowed to cut forward.

There was a nice couple who said they would hold my place and I went forward to the people checking your documents before you went in, the guy manning on booth was rather busy and dismissed me saying I have to wait like everyone else.

However 25 minutes after when I got to the front of the queue he questioned why I didn't mention it was an immigrant visa appointment and remarked that there were several people in my situation dealing with being late for their appointment due to the ever growing queue.

Once I passed through security I was seen to at the reception and given my queue number and told to go up the lift to the booths. Upon exiting the lift I was directed to a separate set of booths for immigrant visa appointments. My number was called up within 3 minutes and the woman behind the glass panel just asked me for my paperwork, passport, ACRO report, marriage certificate, birth certificate and passport photos. She asked for to take my metrics and place my fingers and thumbs in the scanner. I was told to sit back down and wait for my number to be called up again for the next part.

About 10 minutes later I was called up to another booth and asked to repeat after him with a sworn statement of truth which was then followed by a couple of questions regarding my relationship with my wife:

He asked - "How did you meet?" "What is her job?" "Are you currently employed? and "When do you plan to move to the United States?"
After a brief few moments to input the data he congratulated me and told me I had been approved! He then went over the procedure of what happens next and said my passport would take 5-10 working days to receive and I was sent on my way out.

All in all barring the miscommunication in the queue the experience was pleasant and quick. I was inside the embassy for about 45 minutes total.
