Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

This process is long and arduous but grateful to see the end FINALLY. Visa appointment was at 7am, my husband arrived at 5:00 a little extra. You should be more than fine 30 minutes before because you're not allowed to line up until they call names for their time. So at 6:55, they called the names of those with a 7am appointment. He called me less than an hour later saying he got approved. First there is a security check. Then you meet with a precounsel who hands you a sheet of paper with the required documents(that they send in the email) and asks you to arrange your documents in that order. Once they call you and see that you have the documents, you're sent to another window with your interviewer. THere, they ask for certain documents and basic questions, "how did you meet, whats their name, what does your spouse do, where will you live?" My husband said it took 5 minutes and she said congrats you're approved! It seems that they kinda already know who they're gonna approve. anyway soooo happy that's done and it was painless considering how rough the NVC process has been! I think the biggest help was join facebook/whatsapp groups of people who have been through the process and give you advice. Grateful for the IR1/CR1 Bogota whatsapp group! Big support. Good luck everyone! Reach out for help if you need it!!
