This was a crazy experience. Got there an hour prior to appointment and there was a line waiting. Once someone checking people in realized he was there for an immigrant interview they jumped him to the front of the line, saying "when you get in there, don't stand in the line" -- but that was pretty impossible as it was just one great big line and no one giving direction.

NVC seemed to have made some sort of screw up with renaming our documents so that several were custom labeled as "first marriage final divorce decree" but on documents that had nothing to do with divorce -- like the picture page of his passport and our marriage certificate. No surprise the agents couldn't find the right documents. The originals were in hand but I don't know why they want you to bring them as they don't want them. The interview went forward but was literally standing at a counter as if he was renewing a drivers license. The IO asked a couple of basic questions and then claimed again she didn't have these documents -- providing him a 221g refusal with instructions to upload the documents, which we did less than an hour later. NZ police cert also was never transferred from NVC to London but they seemed much less concerned about that.

Overall it worked out but it caused days of angst on the NVC screw up and anger over the lack of accountability for the errors.

My one piece of advice then would be to review all your NVC submitted documents on CEAC the day before the interview and make sure they haven't renamed anything. The file names will still be correct, just the descriptions wrong. That way you can point out the right ones to them if it comes up.
