Went for the interview at London 6th January 2022. Smooth process getting in - I got there 25-minutes before my interview. I was lucky that there were no major delays with Security and everything was pretty prompt. Don't bring any large bags or laptops. Just try bring your paperwork and main valuables. Make sure your phone is full of battery (they just ask you to open any app to test that its a working phone).
Same as previous posts I've read, they are on it and everything needs to be in order - they always asked for my passport and D2-260 confirmation page at every checkpoint from first gate, reception etc. Got given a ticket and sent to the 2nd floor and waited for around 15 minutes before my number was called up to the first booth. First case officer was pretty rude but I went with it. He asked for my current valid passport, marriage cert, birth cert, police clearances. I scanned my fingerprints and answered a couple of questions ''where did you meet your wife?'' ''which country?'' ''when did you get married''.
At that first booth I had an issue with one police check (New Zealand don't send the applicant a physical clearance they send it directly to the US Embassy). Officer couldn't find it.. I was told this was my issue and I had to send an email to New Zealand embassy for them to correct it. Not what I needed.
However, when I was called then the second booth and a new case officer I brought this to his attention. The second case officer genuinely wanted to help. He could tell it frustrated me as this was an embassy to embassy issue. He then 'found' the police clearance in a different folder on my case. Could have been very annoying but it was a big relief.
After a few further questions ''what does your wife do?'' ''when do you intend on leaving?'' Then that was it - I got the.... ''I'm going to approve your visa today'' only 13-months in the making.
All in all a smooth process. I was in there just over an hour.
