Juarez, Mexico | Review on January 13, 2022: | Donnie Coward

During my 2 interviews (required b/c of COVID protocols), all they wanted to see were my original civil documents: birth certificate (mine and spouse), marriage certificate (we married in Mexico), previous divorce certificate, and that's it. They didn't look at any other paper copies from the portfolio I brought with me to the interview, but we did also upload more current information into the CEAC system days prior to the interview. For example, we completed and uploaded a more recent I-864 form, more recent 3 month check stubs, a recent passport photo, and a more recent police report that we obtained one day before the interview while we were in Juarez. The only questions they asked were...Where and how did we meet, and where my US husband lived.
We stayed at La Casa de Las Bumgabilias. This place is like a AA for Mexican/US couples seeking to obtain residency. The support system is great! They help you with all your pre-interview paperwork (make sure everything is there and correct). They also help you with removal of paperwork that you don't need for the interview. They also have an on-site lawyer that helps you with paperwork and questions too. The cost of the lawyer is only $50!!!! They have printers, copiers, scanners, and other office materials to help you organize your portfolio. They also provide breakfast, early dinner, and nightly group meetings to celebrate and encourage couples during this exhausting process.
Oh, I forgot include that this place also provides you with free transportation to/from all of your appointments (medical/biometrics/interviews), AND daily transportation to/from Walmart!
