Plenty of hotels near the Consulate and easy to locate. At the time of your appointment, go straight to the door for security. Dont line up behind others in queue as they may be waiting for different appointments. I recommend bringing a puzzle, book or a magazine. And you might appreciate a watch as the day I was there the clock in the waiting area didnt work. While some reported quick turnovers, I was there for close to 2 hours and would have loved something to occupy myself since phones arent allowed. I wasn't asked for the letter of intent or proof of relationship. I was asked for the long form of my birth certificate which I did not have but they accepted my certificate nonetheless.
