Just finished my interview at the consulate. Whole process took a little over 2 hours.
I arrived at 7:50AM for myI had an 8:00AM appointment. Before I was let in, I was asked by the security guard whether I have complied with all COVID protocols. I then went through security and deposited my phone in the lockbox. I took the elevator to the first floor and checked in at window 6 to provide my passport and my photos. I then waited for an hour until I was called to window 4 to provide my civil documents. I gave my original marriage certificate, police certificate, birth certificate, as well as copies of my updated AOS, my jointly filed tax returns from 2020, my spouses' 2020 W2 and 1099s. I also told him about my new US address to update my DS-260. I was given a pamphlet on rights of foreign spouses in situations of domestic violence and told to sit and wait for my number to be called. Overall, this consular officer was friendly and we talked about the Bay Area, since he's also from there.
I waited another hour before my number was called again, this time at Window 1. The questions I was asked:
How did you meet you spouse?
What does she do for a living?
What do you do?
We also talked about baseball, since this officer is a big baseball fan. He was moved from Toronto to Montreal temporarily to help with the increase in cases being processed in Montreal. He told me he intended to approve my visa but that it might take 3-4 weeks to return my passport due to the Thanksgiving holiday next week. He then returned my original marriage certificate and birth certificate and gave me a notice with information on how to check my visa status. Overall, the interview took less than 5 minutes.
