I would just like to say that the Vancouver consulate employees were very nice and kind. You could be the worst klutz in the world and they will still be patient and kind.
heres my experience:
Came to the consulate 2 hrs ahead of time, ate lunch at Goodfellas across the st (excellent food). Then arrived at the guard station 1/2hr before the interview, waited 10 min and they let me in. Went through a security check/metal detector. A A guard let me in a special elevator (dont get off on the wrong floor and jump on a different elevator, I did that by accident and they made me go down and around the building to the guard door again, but they were kind about it.) Then I went through another checkpoint and sat in a waiting room for maybe 20min, they called me to a booth, and I gave them the documents they requested. Sat down for like 30-45min then they called me up to be fingerprinted with a machine (yay no ink). Sat down again, for like 5 min, got called up to an interview booth, had a nice man, he asked me if I had been where my fiance was, if I had met his family, where we met, when the wedding was, and what my fiance does. Then he told me I was going to get a visa and I could pick it up the next day at 2pm, I asked if I could come on friday instead, and that was okay. Smooth and painless, very nice people. Nothing to be afraid of!
