Plesant experience overall from beginning to end. Would have given a 5 if not for the mistake in my appointment time.
Interviewer was friendly and kind. They asked for my name and birthdate, then took my fingerprints. After that, they asked about my previous visas to the US (F1 student visas) and I said I had applied for them at this embassy too and was working on my Master's still. Then they asked about how we met (while I was studying) and how many times we have met across our relationship. I explained that we made trips to see each other and to a couple of other places together and they commented that our photos in traditional costumes were cute! Then they said that it all looks good and I can expect my passport in a week.
The interview took around 10-15 minutes but I waited for a long time in the embassy because they mistakenly recorded my appointment time as 8.30am when it was in fact 7.30am. So I was in the embassy from 7.15-9.15ish.
I don't speak Thai that well, but other applicants told me that the officer (white American) spoke some English, then switched to speaking Thai fluently with them. I also made too many copies for the paperwork required at the Bangkok embassy. You only need ONE set for the I-134, ONE set for your evidence of relationship because they will return it to you. I had also made copies for my passport and ALL my old passports but they never asked for that. Basically they even kept my original Thai police records and foreign police records and the only thing that was returned to me was my birth cert. I hope I get all the originals back because I paid a lot for some of them!
