Arrived 30 minutes early. At the initial security checkpoint, they asked for the appointment letter. Went through airport style security. They requested I take a drink out of my water, and then I was free to carry on to the embassy. Security was very friendly.
Went through to the initial desk where they asked for the letter again and ID (might be mistaken, memory and all that...). They attached a sticker to the confirmation letter with a number, and guided me to go up the lifts and turn left and left again. In the waiting area there are several monitors which will at some point flash your number, and somewhere a beep will go off indicating a new number has been added to the list. This will let you know which window to go up to.
At the first window, they asked for the various documents that are outlined everywhere - police cert, marriage cert, long form birth cert, passport, passport photo. They also took my fingerprints on the scanner, and asked when I was planning to travel.
After that, I was instructed to take a seat again until I'm called up to another window where the interview will take place. Not too long after, my number popped up and off I went. The questions were:
What does your wife do? (They asked about a specific job she held before as well.) How did you meet? Tell me about your relationship (very open ended this question - I rambled about taking holidays, where I proposed, what we would do in the time between visits).
After this, he said congratulations, you are approved. You'll receive your passport in 1-2 weeks. And that was the end of it.
All in all, 10/10, would recommend again!
Appointment at 10.05am, arrived at about 9.25am, finished by 10.10 am.
Everyone was friendly and courteous. It was quiet and the offices were very empty.
