Interview - 19th April
1. Entered the building - showed passport and appointment letter.
2. Sent upstairs to first floor and waited for number to be called.
3. Called to window and asked for civil docs, passport and a photo. Also took fingerprints.
4. Called to next window for interview with a different officer to the first one. Asked general questions about when I met my wife, where we plan to move, why we’re moving etc. We had a joint sponsor so he asked who my joint sponsor was and where he lived. He then couldn’t find my wife’s tax returns on the system (even though all were uploaded). Then he said that whilst your wife has lived in the UK with you for the last 4 years she is still required to file her taxes and we need proof of transcript. I said that she filed by paper retrospectively a few months ago and because of covid the IRS have not processed them.
He then went to speak to his boss. He came back and then said you need to ask her to provide a signed statement saying this.
I was then issued with a 221g. This was uploaded shortly
Thereafter.
Everything else was fine and they kept my passport.
Just waiting for the status to change from refused to administrative processing.
