Our appointment was at 10:45am of wich we arrived at 10:43.
We didn't get in for a interview until 11:50, of wich I was kinda mad about as I paid for a over the phone interpreter from 10:45 to 11:45. $90 wasted.
When we got called in for a interview we were not separated as every other couple in the waiting area was. When we entered the first thing we did was hand over our relationship evidence and sat down.
The interviewing officer allowed me to interpret for my wife as calling the interpreter wouldve costed more money. My wife was asked basic questions off the I485 such as her name and maiden name, if she was married before and if she's married now. He asked for her parents names and dates of birth then asked for her husband's name and place + date of birth. My wife did not fully answer all of the questions such as where I was born, she answered the city I grew up in and not the one I was born. She got the state right though.
The officer then laughed a little and then asked for the names and dates of birth of all children involved in the relationship, 3 kids. 2 step children and 1 biological. She answered all correctly.
He then asked a few questions from the eligibility questions in the i485, about 10 random questions. And then he asked us to give a brief story of our relationship and how we met. At the end he stated our case must be reviewed and gave us a slip explaining it must be reviewed. He assured us it was normal for all cases.
We got done with our interview... around 1:15pm
The next day our status changed to "new card is being produced"
I'm giving the office 4 stars, interview was comfortable. Took a long time as he was re-organizing the entire immigration packet (129f-everything), but the wait in the waiting area was dreadful.
