Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Husband arrived 30 minutes early. He was greeted by the officer that does the initial small interview to gather the required documents. Affidavit of Support and W2 were required among the other necessary documents to provide. They were very nice and helpful, assisted husband in organizing and turning in the documents they needed.

There were three other people in line ahead of him and he ended up being last to be called. The wait was a little less than two hours from walk in to actual interview. The interview only took about five minutes. The final consular officer for the main interview was very nice as well.

Some of the questions asked that he remembers:

What is your full name?
Are you married?
Have you ever been in the military?
Have you lived in any other countries?
Have you gone to the US in the past?
When did you get married? (Asked twice during the interview)
Where were you married?
Who does your spouse live with?
How did you meet your spouse?
How did the relationship evolve?

There were other questions husband doesn't remember at this time, but says they were all really simple to answer. Officer said "alright, you're approved, you can pick up your visa in 10 - 15 days." Husband said, "is that it?" Officer said, yes, congratulations.
