We had our adjustment of status interview at the Baltimore field office last week. We went there around 15 minutes earlier than the appointment. After routine security checks, we went and showed our interview notice to an officer at a counter and he gave us a token. We only had to wait around a few minutes before we were called by our IO. He escorted us to his office and put us under oath. Then he started going through our package. He started with basic questions with names and country of birth. All the questions were very much straightforward and we had already gone through our applications on the day before. He asked the names and birthdays of each spouse's parents. We are from the same country and the same hometown. Seems like he was convinced with our evidence of bona fide marriage (joint health insurance, auto insurance, joint lease, some travel itineraries where we visited our home country). We have been living together for around 2.5 years and have been married for around 1.5 years. He asked whether we have any additional documents. We gave our new joint savings account statements (4 months). We also had a lot of new photos with us and he said that he does not need them. The overall interview took around 40 mins and most of the time he was updating stuff on his computer and verifying our answers with what was on the originally submitted application. In the end, he gave us a general notice saying that our interview is complete and the case is under review. Just two hours later we were approved on the online case status.
Received my green card yesterday and for some reason, they have given us a 10-year green card instead of a conditional 2-year green card (since we have not been married for more than 2 years). I will be checking up with the lawyer and USCIS to ensure that there were no mistakes. Will keep you posted.
