Our experience with direct consular filing was great at the Paris Embassy, efficient, quick turnaround time, some of the consular officers were very kind and friendly. Interview was not difficult and you did not feel like the officers were giving you an unnecessarily hard time in regards to documentation. But of course bring everything with you, etc.
