First to start, I need to say that we were plaintiffs (round 1) in the Milligan v Pompeo K1 lawsuit. Without being in the lawsuit, the interview at the Embassy wouldn't have happened anytime soon. Ibrahim had his medical appointment on December 13th, which at this point, the Cairo Embassy must authorize any medical exams before they are scheduled. He had his interview at the Embassy on January 10th scheduled for 10:00. He waited about four hours until he was called, however. He was the only K1 applicant there. The Consular officer asked Ibrahim "how are you"? Ibrahim said "I am fine, how are you"? Then Ibrahim asked if he could conduct his interview in Arabic, which the Consular officer said was perfectly fine. The officer only asked about five questions about me, his fiance. My full name, my daughters names, my mothers name, where I worked and the city and state where I lived. Ibrahim had prepared lots of proof of ongoing relationship, but the officer never asked to see it. The officer asked only for the updated police certificate. Within about 30 minutes, the interview was over. The officer never said "congratulations", so Ibrahim was concerned whether he was even approved or not. But - they kept his passport. We checked the CEAC website every day for four days and watched it change from 'ready' to 'application received' to 'administrative processing' to 'issued'. He should have the passport with visa in hand on this Sunday, 1/17/2021! javascript:emoticon('')javascript:emoticon('')
