Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

My husband and I just attended our green card interview this past Wednesday. I would say we had a good experience with the officer. He wasn't particularly friendly but it wasn't tense, he was just doing his job and going through the questions. He started with my husband, asking him his full name and birth date, where was he born. He then asked him several "date" questions, such as:

- When did you arrive in the U.S?
- When did you become acquainted with your wife?
- When did we first meet in person?
- Was there a proposal? When did that happen?
- How many visits did we have? What was the date range of these visits?

Also..
- Where have you lived since moving to the U.S?
- Have you traveled outside the U.S since arriving?
- Did we go on a honeymoon?
- Do you work? When did you start working there? What do you do?

He then proceeded to ask my husband the questions from the I-485.

When he got to me he asked me if I changed my name to my husbands name and then repeated some of the same questions again (What is your full name, your birthdate, where were you born, how did you meet your husband, when did you meet in person, where do I work and what do I do, etc.)

He wanted copies of our drivers licenses, my husbands social security card, and wanted to see the original marriage certificate and DS-3025 from my husbands medical. When he asked if we wanted to submit anything to add to our file, I gave him copies of our health insurance cards, car insurance documents, employer letter for both of us, a copy of the contract from a car purchase and loan information, joint bank account statements, credit card documents showing that I added my husband as an authorized user, and some photos from before and after our marriage. I brought a wedding album for him to look at, but he only spent maybe 10 seconds paging through it. I also offered our MFJ tax transcripts, and a letter from my mother (who we are living with until we get our own place), but he declined these.

At the end of the interview he told us that we were approved and should expect the green card in the mail within a few weeks! Our status has yet to change from "interview scheduled" but that seems to be the norm lately that the status remains unchanged and the green card just shows up suddenly. So glad to be done with this step!!
