Overall a very pleasant experience for my fiance. He was notably very nervous when he arrived, but the consulate staff were respectful and pleasant. The guard did a security check and he was directed to the immigrant visa line and took a seat to arrange his papers. When his name was called they took his fingerprints and asked for his papers. Because of Covid, the DPI of Honduras is really backed up on providing police clearance. They allowed him to take the interview anyway and advised him to provide the receipt to prove that he paid for the police clearance even though he did not have it on hand (the consulate member said she would pick it up at another date). The woman that interviewed him was friendly and only really paid attention to the affidavits of support. She was not going to approve the visa when she saw how much money I make a year (the petitioner) but then she saw that we had a joint sponsor (my mother) and then she continued. He was asked how we met, if I (the petitioner) had any children, and when he was planning on bring is son into the USA. He was then asked to undress in another room because he has tattoos and they need to be checked over for gang affiliation. He was then brought back out and congratulated that his visa was approved and welcomed to the USA.
