My husband had his interview today and he had a really good experience at the consulate. His wait time was between an hour and an hour and a half, but the interview itself took about 30 minutes.

During his interview, he worked with an employee who took his documents and scanned them, as well as the employee who did the actual interview. He said they were both really friendly and kind and made him feel at ease.

They asked for his NVC civil documents, plus a couple of others that they requested in our interview date email. Nothing that we hadn't already submitted.

The questions were straightforward:
1.) How did we meet?
2.) How did we continue our 5 years of dating being from different countries, and how did we stay together? (He just said how I was living in Germany the whole time, how we both found universities in the same city, etc.)
3.) Why did we decide to get married?
4.) What does he plan to do when he gets to the US in terms of work?
5.) How soon does he want to come to the US after he gets his visa? (this was to make sure he knew the medical is only valid for entry for 6 months)

Overall, he said it was a great experience and a lot less intense than he expected! He said he couldn't take his phone into the consulate, but that wouldn't be a problem for people who forget to leave their phone at home/the hotel, because at the closest u-bahn station there is a kiosk specifically for people to leave their phones when they go into the consulate.

I wish everyone else who has interviews coming up luck!
