Cleveland OH | Review on August 17, 2020: | viravb
Rating: | Review Topic: Adjustment of Status
Writing this almost 2 years in retrospect so some details are a bit hazy:
Interview was scheduled for 8:45AM at USCIS Cleveland Field Office. My wife and I arrived about 20 mins early, went through the standard security check through the main entrance of the building. Airport style security.
Went up to the floor the office was located at and checked in with one of the employees. She checked some of my paperwork and ID to confirm my appointment and asked us to be seated in the waiting area.
We waited for about 25 minutes, my timing could be off on this one. An officer walked out through one of the secured doors and called my name. We got seated in his office which was a standard private office room and were first asked to take an oath.
This is where the order of things get a bit hazy but I will try my best:
The officer (Officer Koons) was friendly and good-natured. The interview consisted of a surprising amount of questions, some were quite detailed others seemed fairly straightforward. He asked about us about each others family, aspects of our daily lives and where we met.
He then went through the I-485 application and confirmed most of the details with me. At the end he said he was recommending approving the application and we would be notified.
The status changed on the website the next day and I had the green card in hand within 7-10 days after the interview.
