Review Topic: K1 Visa

Svetlana got to the Embassy at 0800 and had to wait outside about 30-45 minutes. She then was allowed inside and waited for about 2 hours before her interview. She noticed some people were questioned for up to 1 hour and a couple of people were denied their visas. So despite the fact that we knew our paperwork was in order and we have a very solid case, she was naturally a little bit nervous. Finally she got to the window and spoke to a polite lady. The interview was conducted completely in English. Her interview lasted only about 10 minutes. She told me that they asked her about 3-4 questions. Where did you meet your fiance?(Poland) how long were you there? (10 Days) etc. Svetlana offered to show the lady our pictures and emails, but the lady didn't need to see them. Finally she was approved and was told she would receive her visa in about 1 week (They are having some holidays for 1st of May now).

So overall is was a successful experience. After reading other reviews and stories, I have the opinion that the Embassy already has a very good idea about whether you are approved BEFORE the interview ever takes place. The interview only matters if there is some kind of problem or situation which needs some explanation. We have had a relationship for over 3 years now and worked very hard to make sure our application was correct and complete. So despite the overall long timeline, our experience as in the end successful. Happy Days!!!
