I'h the petitioner, i traveled to Bogota to meet my wife and be with her, she also had to travel from a different city. our interview was set for the 28th of January so we got to Bogota a week before. we stayed at Casa Hotel Boyaca, is not a 5 star Hotel, but everything is new and their staff is extremely friendly and best of all it is near the embassy and blood work. $6 mil pesos to get to this places from this Hotel in a yellow cab. since Uber is out of Colombia, i recommend you to use indriver app to request taxis.
i read lots of reviews here and most people are not telling you that you as the petitioner will not be allow to come up or enter any facility with your spouse to any of the appointments except the interview at the consulate with a birth certificate. so yea you will have to wait outside for your spouse for blood work, for medical exams, and for the finger prints as well. now lets talk about prices.. Lab work cost $530,000 COPesos = $150 USDollars. arrive to this place early to avoid waiting outside much longer. i got there at 7:30am they open at 8am there was already a line outside. also bring CASH With you. Medical Exams is quite a drive from where i was staying i paid $14,000 COPesos to get there. make sure you bring printed on a paper your spouse case number her address with her name they will ask for it. bring cash, the medical exam has a cost of $290,000 COPesos = $74 USDollar this doesnt include vaccinations so be prepare to pay a lot more, one single shot can cost up to $130,000 COPesos = $40 USDollar. my wife had to get two shots and paid a total of $250,000 COPesos = $70 USDollar. the total of the exam with vaccination was $550,000 COPesos. fingerprints was saturday this was the fastest of all and you dont have to pay anything.
as for the interview date, we got there early at 8AM our interview was set for 9:30AM. we got call to the first window at 11AM and main interview was at 12:30 pm.
i do not know if things have changed but consulate officers do take their time interviewing people, around half and hour. there was an officer interviewing people hard and i wanted to avoid him at all cost..at the end he end up interviewing my wife and he was the nicest person ever. he only asked her 1 question and my wife got excited telling him our story.. he didnt bother asking a second question.. he took her passport and approved our petition in 5 minutes. they did not ask for any IRS paper or taxes, nor of that. they do requested us to send them a copy of marriage since with took with us original one and they do not accept it. as for now we are waiting for them to mail us the passport with the visa. if anyone have a question do not hesitate to ask me.
