Medical Exam:
I arrived to my medical appointment about an hour early, which is good because they tend to you on a first come first serve basis. My appointment was at 8am and they let me in at 7:15am They asked for my proof of Visa interview and they gave me a piece of paper to fill out my demographic info. After waiting about 10 mins, I entered an administrative room where they confirmed personal info such as date of birth, place of birth, current address, etc. I was then called to enter another room where I left a urine sample, did a brief eye exam and they checked my height. I was sent out to the waiting area and the room was completely full by that time. I waited about another 25 mins, then i was called to give a blood sample which only took about 1 min. My next step was the physical exam where the doctor asked me to strip down to my underwear and asked me some psychiatric questions and substance history. Once they reviewed my medical history, they administered any vaccines that were missing. I was then called back into the administrative room to pay for everything. The base fee was about $250 USD.but since I needed extra vaccines, the total ended up at $360--Always walk with extra cash for just incase. They arranged for a taxi transport to take me to another location about 10 mins away to get my Chest Xray done. Once this was over, I was done for the day!
I picked up a sealed envelope with my results the next day and prepared for my interview two days later.
Interview Day:
Arrived at the embassy and they let me through security at 8am, which was my scheduled interview time. (The time of your interview is not really the time you will take your interview.) its always best to show up a little earlier. They gave everyone a brief checklist to identify some of the essential documents you will need for your interview while you wait. Once my name was called to the window, I was asked to present a few documents including my application receipt (DS-160) and Affidavit of Support I134, police records, sealed medical packet and birth certificate. Then they took my passport and finger prints and told me to wait until I was called at another window. Once I was called to the second window, the lady asked me to raise my right hand and swear under oath that whatever information I provide was the truth. She asked me to confirm my home address, occupation as well as how and where I met my fiancé. They ask these questions to be sure that your relationship is legit and not some weird story thats on 90 fiancé. (Always keep eye contact and answer as direct as possible.) After this part of the interview she assured me that my K1 Visa will be processed immediately. My Visa was approved, I went flew out back home the very next day and shipped my passport back to the Embassy via DHL. I received my passport with the Visa inside about 10 days later.
