Montreal was great. Everyone was friendly. I went to the embassy at 8 am even though my interview was for 9:30 as it was advised by fellow visa applicants before me. Went through security and was directed to a room to wait until we could all go up to the 19th floor. I was fisrt in line at #14 and got my number. Sat waiting for it to be called. Went to the counter and handed them the stack of original documents and a stack of the copies. The girl at the counter was friendly and said everything was in order except that my police certificate had only my name from my 1st marriage and it didnt include my maiden name. She said I would probably have to get another one done in montreal and she said it could be done the same day. She also said it would be up to the officer doing the interview to decide whether I needed it. I told her that I had been married at 18 and she wrote that down on the checklist. She told me to go and pay the $200. US cash (100 for me and 100 for my daughter) I took her the reciept of payment and sat down again. 20 min later I was called in for the interview with a very friendly officer and he scanned my index finger prints and asked me how we met and how I was proposed to. We talked a bit about Georgia as he has family in a town close to where I ll be living and that was it. He told me I was approved, gave me some pictures and my original documents back, congratulated me and wished me luck. I was out by 9:30 am and I didnt have to get a new police certificate. There is no need to stress out about the interview the hardest part of the trip was driving in downtown montreal. Watch for the street lights they are only about 6 feet off the ground!! Good luck to all.
