Had an overall good experience. I chipped my ankle bone a few days before my trip and appointment at the embassy. So I went to the Dominican Republic with crutches and my leg wrapped up.
My appointment was at 7 am. When I arrived at 6 there were a lot of people ahead. A nice officer got me a wheelchair and moved me the front of the line. We were given a number and asked to stand in front of a window so we can give my fiancé’s passport and birth certificate. Once we did that we had to sit down and wait to be called after like 15 mins, they called us. 2 ladies were there it seemed like one was training the other. They asked what language would we like the interview to be done and I side Spanish. She asked a lot of questions give our take. They asked the following:
- what are your names
- how old are we
To my boyfriend - how did we meet?, how did I live with?, how old is my son and if he had meet him. What do we do for fun, do you have kids , what is one activity we did as a couple.
For me:
- was I married before. , what happen in that relationship, how long were we together for, did I do this same process for him, where do I work and what are our plans once my fiancé arrives.
She then told us to wait a few seconds and muted her microphone. She went on to say “congratulations your visa has been approved please allow 10 days to pick it upâ€.
They didn’t ask any paperwork.
